Do you have the Right Toothbrush?

Do you feel comfortable when you brush your teeth? You may not notice it, but your toothbrush has a considerable impact on your dental health – more specifically, on how effective you clean your teeth. The quality of your tooth brushing technique can be determined by the right toothbrush, so it is important to check if the one you are currently using fits your specific needs.

We rely significantly on the bristles of our toothbrush to clean the teeth surfaces, as well as the areas in and around the gum line. If you are not comfortable with bristles on your toothbrush, you may unconsciously shorten your tooth brushing time just to be able to get it over and done with. If you have sensitive teeth, or if your gums bleed easily, choose a toothbrush with soft bristles. This bristle type can effectively clean teeth, but in a gentler manner. You can brush your teeth and maintain good oral hygiene without the accompanying pain from stiff bristles.

Does the toothbrush head fit comfortably inside your mouth? Or do you find yourself awkwardly trying to manoeuvre the toothbrush because it does not fit correctly when you brush your teeth? A toothbrush with a big head can cause accidental bruising inside your mouth every time you clean your teeth. The repetitive trauma can harm your teeth and gums. Look for a toothbrush with a smaller head that you can easily move inside your mouth in a more comfortable manner.
